hibiscus
SERIES:
k a o n a – the beauty within
This white hibiscus blossom grew in my living room. For me, it symbolizes a Hawain-like evergreen summer.
Then I learned, that the Hawaiian word kaona means hidden inner meaning, a kind of spirit of an artwork.
Et voilà, the perfect term and concept for this series.
Furthermore, this series is deeply connected with the song dream a little dream, first of all Eddie Vedder’s awesome ukulele cover version! If you don’t know it yet, I highly recommend listening to it.
What’s more, these artworks are a tribute to artist Mary Vaux Walcott.
And I am so excited that parts of this collection have been awarded:
FAPA 2022 Fine art photography awards – Photomanipulation | Nominee (amateurs)
17th POLLUX Awards 2022 – Honorable Mention series // digital manipulation and collage (amateurs)
So proud of being published within the current fall/winter issue of ART SEEN – Magazine 2021. Yay!!! It’s the last artwork shown here.
