k a o n a – the beauty within
This white hibiscus blossom grew in my living room. For me, it symbolizes a Hawain-like evergreen summer.
Then I learned, that the Hawaiian word „kaona“ means hidden inner meaning, a kind of spirit of an artwork.
Et voilà, the perfect term and concept for this series.
Furthermore, this series is deeply connected with the song „dream a little dream“, first of all Eddie Vedder’s awesome ukulele cover version!
If you don’t know it yet, I highly recommend listening to it.
What’s more, these artworks are a tribute to artist Mary Vaux Walcott.
By the way: These artworks will be published in ART SEEN – Magazine in late 2021. Yay!
